ISwim2 Platform FAQ ‘s

  • Who is iSwim2?

iSwim2 is an Australian based company that started out as a learn to swim business. However, due to an interstate relocation, I have now put a lot of energy into other aspects of the learn to swim industry by focusing on consultation, and designing and developing swimming pool equipment.

With almost 30 years experience in the industry my knowledge and skills are the driving force behind the appeal to fill the gaps, and to share and assist others embarking on their own aquatic journey.

  • Do you have any video's or images that I can have a look at to visualise Platform Edge?

We certainly do. Click on the links below, they will take you to iSwim2’s YouTube channel for the videos’ and website and Facebook for images and video’s, plus a lot more great information.

  • What are the dimensions of the platform?

    Weight: 15kgs

    Height: 790mm

    platform length: 1240mm

    platform height: 520mm

depth of deck in water based ona flush coping level: 450mm

    Recommended weight distribution: 90kgs

  • What are the materials of the platform?

316 grade Stainless Steel (hinge and deck support)

5mm thick ABS tubing (frame and connectors)

    high-grade fibreglass polyester resin (deck)

    Rubber wheels and stoppers

  • What features are included on the platform?

Our platform deck has been designed to fold up onto itself for easy storage – the big chunky platforms laying around on the pool deck will be no more.

The deck has holes for visual aids along with water drainage when removing it from the water.

We have also included wheels for easy moveability.

The mounting arm consists of a rubber pad to protect the pool coping and a hook system which latches onto drainage grates, coping edges and in paver gaps or joints.

The tubes are mechanically-fastened to connectors which means there won’t be any messy gluing. If any repairs are needed, they will be quick and easy to fix.

The custom-designed connectors have a cool little feature which allows any pool water to be drained freely from the tube frame

We have patent-pending status on all these features plus more, not just for this platform but for other platforms we have designed that are in the concept stage of product development.

  • Will I be able to put the platform in and pull it out by myself?

Yes. Follow the link to our YouTube channel to have a look at how easy it is to do.

  • How can I be certain Platform Edge will suit my pool?

We are confident the platform will be able to be used in most pools, including above ground pools with a coping edge width of approximately 150mm; wet edge pools with drainage grates; pool coping with paving joints; over the ledges, brick coping etc. As long as Platform Edge has a connecting point to secure it to your pool coping then your pool should be suitable.

To be sure, and prior to purchasing, take a few photos of your pool and send to lyn@iswim2.com.au and we’ll be able to help you.

It is a goal to have  Platform Edge work on all pool types, however, the platform will have its limitations and won’t suit all pools. We can custom make sliding hooks to fit those pools where the coping ledge is longer than our current sizes. Please enquire if you feel adjustments may be necessary.

Alternatively, contact iSwim2, via email, to request a demonstration visit at your pool. Please note, demonstration visits are within a certain radius.

  • What will the cost be of this platform?

We have constantly tried to keep the end price in the back of our minds throughout the design process, and as a result we believe our pricing structure is consistent with market demands.

There are three different models available for purchase:

    1. iSwim2_PE_SM – retails for AUD$1180 + GST and shipping/handling

    2. iSwim2_PE_MD – retails for AUD$1195 + GST and shipping/handling

    3. iSwim2_PE_LG – retails for AUD$1215 + GST and shipping/handling

For more information on the model you should purchase please visit www.iswim2.com.au/platform/ or contact lyn@iswim2.com.au for enquiries.

Like iSwim2’s Facebook page to keep up to date with news and notifications of all our products and services.  https://www.facebook.com/iSwim2/ .

Or, contact lyn@iswim2.com.au if you require any further help or answers to specific questions.

  • Are you looking at doing other platforms?

As mentioned previously, we do have other platforms at the concept design stage of product development which have all been included into our filed patent application.

With Platform Edge launched and being utilized in many swim schools, iSwim2’s is now centering its attention on our first pool-floor platform. Keep an eye out for its progress, you are going to love it.

  • Where can I see this platform?

It is hoped we will visit industry conferences to showcase our platform once it is ready to go.

We will also post more videos so you can see the final platform in action.

  • Is there anything else you have in the pipeline?

We have some great ideas for products that can be used in the learn to swim industry but first things first, right!?

If you have any other ideas that you think would be great as a product in this industry, please let us know.

  • Does the platform bounce?

Platform Edge is designed to be slightly flexible with minimal movement when used correctly.

When the weight is evenly distributed across the deck the weight exerts a downward pressure which forces the rubber stoppers to push against the side of the pool, resulting in a slight bounce. The pressure also exerts a horizontal force on the sliding hooks keeping them in place and secured to their copping connection.

If the platform is misused e.g., jumping and/or bouncing up and down or any other type of boisterous activity the safety and longevity of the platform is compromised.
